This entails honing a sterling character replete with qualities like Commitment, Hard-work, ability to Communicate, Sincerity and Team Spirit. We also conduct industry perspective building classes and encourage students to learn at least two foreign languages. This adds to their skills and increases their chance for placements. The details are as follows: Certificate Course in Retail Marketing Management Course Objective Organized retailing has witnessed significant growth in the developed economies from around the ‘60s and today it is a matured industry in many of the western markets. In India, however, organized retailing took off a couple of years back and – considering the huge population base, rising consumer spending and improving lifestyle – retailing in India is poised for tremendous growth in the years to come. While some of the early movers in the market are fast expanding their network across the country, more and more new players are joining the bandwagon considering the growth potential. Also newer and newer retailing formats are emerging. The recent government approval for FDI in the retailing sector (for single brand outlets as well as in the supply chain) and the entry of mega-retailers (domestic as well as international) – marks the next stage of growth of retail in India and makes it an exciting time to learn the subject. The course is designed to introduce the students to the world of retailing. The focus of the course is on integration of Retail Strategy with different key functions of a retail business.
