ABOUT US
Aurora’s Business School Annual Fest – UDAAN
With the aim to promote cross-institutional learning and to provide a platform to bring out the talent for the students all over Andhra Pradesh, Aurora’s Business School is organising a collegiate youth festival UDAAN in January 2012. The fest starts with the Sports event- Maha Khel with Cricket and other indoor games like Caroms, Table Tennis and Chess on 4rth of January followed by Vyaparik Manch – the Business Theatre Fest on 7th of January. Udaan also have Adviteeya- Management Fest on 20th and 21st Jan having a range management and cultural competitions like Mock stock, HR skit, Documentary and Photography, Dance and singing competitions. The Fest concludes with the Green Idea event on 27th and 28th January with the B-plan competition and Green Expo-Exhibition.  The events in the fest are designed for the youths with attractive prizes worth Rs 2, 00,000. The various events are planned in a way to promote the cross-institutional relations among the students of various colleges in AP.

VYAPARIK MANCH

The main themes are Business Ethics, Corporate Culture, Recession and Recent Organizational Conflict.

About the Event
Theatre is about framing a story. “Vyaparic Manch”, as the name suggests is a theatre competition with a business twist. Plays are to be performed on the given business themes.

RULES FOR VYAPARIKMANCH
RULES FOR AUDITION:

  • Management decision is final for short listing the groups.
  • Management is not responsible for the participants’ belongings.
  • Participants are required to carry their own portable storage devices.
  • Participants are required to carry their registration receipts at the time of auditions without fail.
  • Participants are strictly not allowed to exceed their time limit for play (Max-20 minutes).
  • Participants should reach the venue before 10 am.

RULES FOR REGISTRATION:

  • Registration fee Rs.50 per head.
  • Entry fee for audience Rs.30 per head.
  • Registration fee is not refundable.
  • Participants can register on the spot or till 30th December 2011,till 9:00a.m.

One or more groups can participate from a single college or institution.

RULES FOR FINAL COMPETITION:
•    Participants who report late will not be allowed to participate.
•    Keep your belongings safe. Management is not responsible for it.
•    Participants are not allowed to exceed their time limit for the play (Max-20 minutes).
•    Participants are required to carry their own props for the play.
•    Gap of 10 minutes will be given to each group for their respective arrangements for their respective plays.
•    The reporting time for the participants is 9 am. Failing which the participants will not be allowed to present their play.
•    Sound system will be available at the venue.

Rules to participate in Cricket
•    Registration fee per team us Rs.3000/-
•    It is mandatory for the student to bring a letter of authorization from Head of the institution and carry the college ID card all along the event.
•    Last date for registration is 2nd Jan 2012
•    Dress code comprises college T-shirt, white trousers, and Sports shoe
•    Student teams should bring along their own kits for the tournament.

Rules to participate Indoor Games
•    Only 5 students from each college are permitted to participate in this event
•    Students from each institution can choose to play in ‘singles’ and ‘doubles’ in Carroms, and Table Tennis
•    Same students can register for all the categories of indoor games
•    Registration fee per head for each game Rs.50/-
•    It is mandatory for the student to bring a letter of authorization from Head of the institution and carry the college ID card all along the event
•    Last date for registration is 2nd Jan 2012
•    Dress code comprises college T-shirt, white trousers, and Sports shoe

Awards for Cricket
•    Winning team will be awarded Rs. 50,000/-, Bike, and Gold medals  and Merit certificate
•    Team winning second (Runners) will be awarded Rs. 25,000/-, along with mementoes and Merit certificate
•    Cash prize of Rs. 5000/- each will be awarded to Man of the match, Man of the series, best bowler, batsman, fielder, wicket keeper, and all rounder
•    Every participant will receive a participation certificate
Awards for Indoor Games
•    Winner in each game will be awarded Rs. 5000/- along with gold medal and Merit certificate
•    Runner in each game will be awarded Rs. 2500/- with a silver medal and Merit certificate
•    Each participant gets a participation certificate

ADVITEEYA
Can I participate: All the students who are pursuing their graduation and post graduation in any stream can participate in the event however each sub event may have its own entry requirement.
Why Should I attend: Adviteeye   is management fest where you will be exposed to fun, cultural and business events. One can participate in any of the event and stand a chance to win the event. And if you chose not to participate in the event you can still enjoy at the various stalls and cultural events.
What Can I gain:  You can prove your skill and talent? You can earn prizes worth more than 2, 50,000. All the participants including winner and runner up will be awarded appropriate certificate and you can get knowledge, fun awareness and excitement at one place.
How much does it cost:  Entry to the Adviteeye  is free of cost . Participating in any of sub event or activities may cost you depend on the activity.
Can I organize my subevent and/or activities: NO  , only students of ABS will be allowed to organize their own event / activities.
When will be the prize given: Prizes will be given as and when we have the winner , however management may chose to give prizes at different time.

Rules for the Events:
Participation : All the students of degree and PG college can participate in all the events. Management at its own discretion may ask for student ID card.
Participation Fee: Registration of participation will be done  on the spot by paying `100 for each individual event in case of solo and `150 for team events .Fee once paid will not be refunded.
Withdrawal:  You cannot withdraw from any events which you have registered, in case of your absence or delay in reporting to concern authority in any eventuality management/organizer will declare your competitor winner at its own discretion.
Judges: Judges will be eminent personality from the concerned field or otherwise.
Prizes: Prizes will be given at the venue . Tax liability arising of Prizes will be solely and absolutely of winner ABS will not be liable for any event / incident arising of it. In case of more than one winner , joint winner will be declared and prize money will equally be devided.
Acceptance:  Participants by paying fee and/or registering deemed to accept terms and conditions.
Terms and Condition includes but not limited to:

  • Abide by the rules and regulation of the competition/Event
  • Participate in the event with sporting spirit.
  • Maintain the required decorum and discipline
  • Influencing result or judges directly or indirectly will lead to disqualification.
  • Any form or practice to cheat will lead to disqualification whether indented or not.
  • Judges’/Management/Organizer’s decision will be final decision.
  • Organiser will have right to take photo or video of the event and can use this for the educational , marketing and promotional purpose for the ABS and/or Institution under Aurora’s group.

Introduction and Rules for Individual Event
Des Vides : Des Vides is mock currency market where in participants will be credited with equal amount of hypothetical currency in Indian Rupee (can be referred as points) . Participants are expected to maximize the amount and individual ending with maximum amount will be declared winner.

Rules:

  • It would be an individual event.
  • Individual cannot take direct or indirect help of any person or information source including digital media or calculators.
  • Individual is expected to trade in minimum 3 currencies.
  • Individual is expected to place minimum 5 orders.
  • Individual is expected to punch their own orders
  • Management is not responsible for any technical issue arising.

Note: In case of technical or any other logistic issue management at its own discretion cancel the event or decide the winner.

RannBhumi :  RannBhumi is a business contest comprising of various round and team scoring highest will be declared winner. RannBhumi will be judged by prominent and well known quizzer. 

Rules:

  • Team should comprise of 2 member.
  • Full points will be awarded for every direct question which is answered correctly and Half points will be awarded for indirect question if answered correctly.
  • There will be different rounds.
  • Some of the rounds may have negative marking.
  • Any unethical practice direct or indirect will lead to disqualification.
  • In the buzzer round (if any)  organizer’s decision will be final
  • Questions may not be related only to business they can be from any domain.
  • Participants may be asked to present on both the days if they qualify the qualification round on day one depending on the number of entries.
  •  

Janayaukta: Janayaukta is HR Skit based on current HR issues; participants are expected to perform a skid on HR related issue.

Rules

  • Team should comprise of minimum 2 and maximum 5 members
  • Team should perform a skit of 5 to 10 minutes.
  • Team should perform on HR issues only.
  • Upon any dispute on the relevance of the play (the play is related to HR or not) judges’ decision will be final and binding to all.
  • Participants are expected to bring their prop, dress and other requirements.
  • Organizer will provide only the facility of stage, rotating mic, amplifier, and speaker.
  • No pre recorded audio can be used.
  • Organizer will not provide space for preparation i.e. green room or makeup room and any other related facility.
  • Organizer will have right to take photo or video of the event and can use this for the educational, marketing and promotional purpose for the ABS and/or Institution under Aurora’s group.
  • Skit can be in English or Hindi.
  •  

Jingelala:  Jingelala is an individual event in Ad and jingle making competition wherein participants are expected to prepare an Ad or jingle or both as requested by the judges on given product could be existing or non-existing.
Product could be tangible or non tangible or service. It could be existing or non existing product from India or elsewhere.
Rules:

  • Jingle should be in English or Hindi
  • Participant cannot copy the existing jingle directly or indirectly.
  • Participants cannot use the dictionary or any other reference including digital media.
  • Ad should be of maximum 45 sec
  • Jingle should be of maximum of 15 sec.
  • Jingle can rhyme however it’s not compulsory.
  • Participants will not be provided with pen paper or stationary.
  • Participants will be awarded a specific time to prepare the Ad or Jingle.
  • Participants cannot change or interchange their topic or product.
  • Participants themselves will be legally liable for any violation of copyright, intellectual property and perjuries.
  •  

BECH KE DIKHAO: Students learn many things theoretically in the class but they do not use them practically. This event gives them an opportunity to do the things practically. In this event, we would give some products to the participants, they need to sell those products, and the team which gets max amount (sales) will be the winner. We would give them only the base price below which they cannot sell and they have to fix the price accordingly.
Products could be of Sponsors. Or homemade chocolates or toys etc
Terms and conditions:
•    Team: 2 (max)
•    Participants shouldn’t buy the product themselves.
•    They should disclose the money which they are carrying with them.
•    They should not use cell phone during the event
•    A briefing would be given about the product.
•    They will be given 3 different products to sell each of XXX quantity (product mix).
•    They need to get back to the coordinator within 1 hours.
•    They should not use their vehicles. They have to walk and sell the product.
•    They should sell the products in the competition area.
•    They have to give the money and unsold stock to coordinators.
•    Winner would be decided base on the surplus/profit earn by them.
For coordinator:
•    At least 1 coordinator must be with each team to see that they don’t cheat.
•    Maintain time.
•    Collect the money and unsold stock.
•    Hand over the money generated by the teams to the concerned faculty.

Learning from the event

Practical Approach: Students learn many things theoretically in the class but they do not use them practically. This event gives them an opportunity to do the things practically.
Direct Selling: The participants will learn the reality of ground level sales in which they need to interact directly with the customers.
Segmentation & Targeting: Since every person cannot be their customers. So they have to segment their market and target the customers based on their segmentation.
Pricing: They have to fix the price of the product on their own. They have to be reasonable in fixing the price of the respective products or else they have to lose the market. We would give them only the base price below which they cannot sell and they have to fix the price accordingly.
Negotiating Skill: They need to communicate about the product and negotiate on price if needed with the customers.

Indradhanush
About:
Indradhanush is the cultural event of Adviteeya. These cultural events will comprise of Dance and Singing Competition.
Dance:
Under Dance competition we are conducting Solo dance and Group dance. Participants have to go through two rounds consisting of Audition and Final round.  

Singing

Under singing competition we are conducting Solo singing and Group singing. Participants have to go through two rounds consisting of Audition and Final round.

•    Participants should get their tracks on which they want to perform

•    It should be original; it should not be downloaded or copied from any source.
•    Any theme of your choice.

•    All team members should be present.
•    Courtesy should be mentioned, if any.
•    Bring your content in CD/DVD only.

Objective
•    To encourage the development of new business ventures
•    To educate students in the process of creating and evaluating new business ventures
•    To prepare students for new opportunities in entrepreneurship sometime during their career
Who can apply?
Anyone having a business idea, an appetite for taking a calculated risk, commitment to nurture your idea, and a never say die attitude to purchase your ambition then this competition is for you. It is mandatory that the business idea should focus on environmentally friendly ‘green ideas’.
Areas of focus
Individuals/teams must have their business plan focused in following areas with on ‘green ideas‘having an underlying theme of preserving our fragile environment.

Norms
•    Any undergraduate or post graduate student or a working professional having than 2 year of experience
•    Be enrolled in an institution/ organization and be less than 30 years of age.
•    Submit a proof of identification of the institution along with age proof (Birth /SSC certificate)
•    Be an individual or a team not exceeding 4 members
•    Original plans never submitted in any competition before
